WHAT WE ARE BUYING NOW Items we are always accepting: *Pack N Plays Spring/Summer items: February through June Autumn/Winter items: July through January (heavy winter coats and snowsuits September through January) Exceptions to the above are all sizes shoes and HIGH END brand name items - we will make every effort to always take these. We purchase: *Children’s clothing, sizes infant to 12 (approx. 10 years old), all seasons. Clothing Must Be: *RACK READY" -- this means freshly laundered (within one week of bringing it in) and odor-free. Baby Gear and Toys Must Be: *SQUEAKY CLEAN, including hidden areas, corners and crevices. All cloth covered parts need to be laundered.
In proper working condition. Up to current safety standards. We are very concerned about the safety of our littlest customers, and regularly receive updates from the Consumer Product Safety Commission pertaining to product recalls. To help us, we ask that you please check the safety of your toys and equipment at www.cpsc.gov before bringing them in.
I was working full time and a mother of two when my husband and I discovered that our home was to be blessed with a third child. I realized that it was time to make a change. I wanted to spend more time with my children and daycare costs were high. Like most people, our household still required two incomes, so we began searching for a compromise. When we discovered that Urban Baby Exchange was available we realized that “this was it”, exactly what we were looking for. We immediately fell in love with the little resale boutique and we hope you do too!
When we celebrated our one year in March of 2008 it was a good time to set new goals, and one of those goals was to launch Urban Baby Exchange Boutique, our online store. We wanted to give our wonderful customers more options when bringing their items in for store credit and consignment.
At Urban Baby Exchange we offer something a little different. Not only are we the little consignment shop located in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, we also feature an online collection of all new, high end, quality and unique items for your infant, toddler, pre-teen and the mommy to be!
And our entire online collection is available to those who have store credit with us!

OUR CONSIGNMENT AND RESALE POLICIES:
Welcome to Urban Baby Exchange!! We’re pleased you want to become part of our community. Our goal is to stock only the best kids and maternity clothing and accessories, and to sell them in a clean, comfortable and fun environment.
Just like you, we’re very picky -- that’s what makes our store so great! We carefully hand-select all of our inventory so everything is clean, stylish, and in great condition.
THE BASICS:
*Clothes need to be CLEAN and freshly laundered
*NO plastic bags
*Button the buttons, snap the snaps, zip the zippers
*Rack Ready clothes only
*Gear must be SQEAKY clean!
*No "mart" brands - Wal-mart, Target etc
*High Chairs - both the stand alone type and the kind that hook onto tables or chairs
*Exersaucers
*Bumbos
*Strollers - all types
*Quality Toys
*Cloth Diapers and Covers
WHEN WE BUY
ESTABLISHED sellers: We buy Monday - Saturday 10:00am to 2:00pm. No appointment is ever neccessary.
FIRST TIME sellers: We request that new sellers bring in no more than 30 items so they can get acquainted with our policies and pricing.
OUT-OF-SEASON ITEMS: To provide the best selection for our customers, we want to keep our store stocked with in-season items. For this reason, you may bring in out-of-season items, but we will pay at a slightly reduced rate (to cover the extra cost of storing them until we can put them on the sales floor). So, if you would like to receive the full price of what we would pay, please bring items in during the following schedule:
WHAT WE BUY
Due to our customers’ expectations, we’re VERY selective about what we can accept and must limit our selection to brands with proven quality and durability. Examples of clothing brands we accept are: Tea, Gap, Gymboree, Hanna Andersson, Baby Lulu, REI, Lands End, Catimini, Columbia, Ralph Lauren, Oilily, Janie & Jack, Green Dog, and Patagonia. Examples of brands we typically do not accept: Circo, Cherokee, Curfew, Sprockets, Faded Glory, George, and many other discount brands. We do not purchase any bedding. Please be understanding if we cannot purchase your items.
*Maternity/nursing clothing, all seasons. Must be brand name, current, trendy styles.
*Very gently used wooden toys and puzzles, educational and activity-based toys and books. We do not accept stuffed animals.
*Baby gear. Strollers, highchairs, pack-n-plays, electric swings, excersaucers, etc. Instructions and product information should be included. Please call us before bringing in larger items so you are sure we are accepting them at that time.
HOW TO GET YOUR ITEMS READY TO SELL
*Neatly laid out or folded in paper grocery bags or reusable boxes. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING BROUGHT IN TRASH/PLASTIC BAGS. Clothing sets need to be presented together, but not pinned together. Zip the zippers, snap the snaps, button the buttons.
*Completely free of lint or animal hair.
*In excellent condition. Please do not bring anything in with stains, tears, missing buttons, broken zippers, or that is pilled and/or faded. These items will not be accepted.
*Complete, with all necessary parts and pieces, instruction manuals, and any necessary batteries. If items are brought in without necessary batteries, we will need to install them and you will be paid slightly less than we would normally pay.
*Fully assembled.
HOW YOU GET PAID
Store Credit:
If you would like immediate store credit you will receive 45% of the resale value for your items. This credit can be used right away or stored in your account for future use in our store or right here on our website.
Consignment:
Consignors will receive 50% cash or 55% store credit of the sale price. We will set up an account that you can check on anytime. We keep your account current as your items are sold. Your account is always valid and does not expire. However, we will not keep consigned items in store longer that 90 days. After 90 days any items not picked up will be donated to a charity of our choice.
Cash:
If you would prefer immediate cash, you will receive 35% of the resale value placed on your items.

SHIPPING INFORMATION:
Many of our items will ship out within 1-2 business days. However, many of our items may take up to a week to ship out. Our handmade items are subject to designers work and may take a little longer.

Just give us a call and we will provide a coupon code that will deduct the amount of store credit available when checking out. It's that simple!
CAN I HAVE MY ITEMS SHIPPED TO THE STORE FOR PICK TO AVOID SHIPPING FEES?
Absolutely! If you would like to pick up your items from us, please just provide the coupon code PICKUP at check out to remove your shipping charges. Leave us your number and we will happily call you when your order has arrived.
